Unless you are living under a rock, most of us watched Keyshia Ka’oir and Gucci Mane’s Vh1 wedding on last month. If you’re like me, you watch shows like this for 2 reasons: BEAUTY AND FASHION. I truly wanted to find out, “Who was her Makeup Artist?” “What is she wearing?” “What makeup looks will they create on her?” I was READY!!! Keyshia is a beautiful woman, so I knew her makeup would be minimal and soft, but I still couldn’t wait to see how it looked. This was the look that was created for her wedding day:
I don’t know about you, but I was a little less than impressed with this look. I don’t know if it’s because I had high expectations for her or if the look is just not what I expected. However, I will say, I was totally here for that lip color. During a clip in the show, Keyshia revealed the color of the lipgloss at Take It Off and it was from her K’aoir Cosmetics Lip Pop Collection. Of course I had to purchase this lip color. Here are the details:
The color is alot lighter on the swatch than I expected. Keyshia’s skin tone is much fairer than mine, therefore it appears to be a bit nude of her. You can see from my swatch listed below the true color of this lipgloss. The consistency is thick and gloss like. One of the very first things I noticed about this gloss, was the SMELL!! Girl!!! This lip gloss smells like BUBBLEGUM! This was one of the BEST SMELLING lip glosses I have ever purchased. It wasn’t too strong, so if you’re sensitive to smells, you shouldn’t be too offput by it.
The next thing I noticed was the brush. This lip gloss does not have the typically doe foot wand applicator. It actually comes with a brush. The wand does get quite messy as you can see, and the bristles of the brush get offset once you return it back to tube. This was a tad bit annoying when trying to apply this gloss because the frayed bristles of the brush were interfering with a smooth application.
Once I applied the lipcolor, I was able to over look the brush and it’s bristles. This lip color was phenomenal. I was a little offput by how light it was, until I saw it on! I used a brown lip liner with it to create the most stunning ombre lip ever! Check out the video below to see how I applied it. Have you used Take it off? What are your thoughts? How did you apply it? Let’s chat. Leave a comment down below.
