Happy Thursday! I hope your week is off to a great start. I’m testing out a new series that I’ll with home decor and design. The idea is to give you ideas for decor for your home, but on a budget. My first project is my laundry room! Woop Woop! Even though I’m a stylist, I still have other areas in life that make me happy. Home decor is something that I’ve recently fallen in love with. If you enjoy this series, let me know and I’ll keep it going. These tips/ideas won’t be super long, but hopefully you will find the value in each of them.
Pick a starting point
So you know I’m always talking about getting organized. Well let me tell ya, that’s because ya girl isn’t always organized. SHHHOOCCKKERRRR!! lol. Maaan listen. Life is busy! But hey that’s no longer an excuse for me to get my stuff together. As of lately, I’ve been on my Home Decor vibe. I’m planning to completely change the decor in my entire home. The area that irritated me the most was our laundry room. We have a 10 x 10 laundry room upstairs and for the most part, it’s been a complete nightmare! LOL. I decided to finally get it organized so I can feel better about doing laundry.
Declutter the space
The first step was for me to declutter the space. I coupon a few times per month, therefore I have a stock pile of things like laundry detergent, fabric softener, dryer sheets, razors, and etc. Before today, everything was stored above the washer and dryer on those wire racks. It looked extremely tacky and just all over the place. I decided to take all of that down. I went to Big Lots and Dollar Tree and found everything I needed to get my laundry room in order. Once I got home, it was time to get to work.
Great finds/Great price
I found these awesome baskets at Big Lots. The 2 large ones were $15 and the smaller one was $12. They are awesome for holding all of my overflow items from couponing. They keep everything tucked away neatly.
I purchased these containers from Big Lots too. I found this plastic drink dispenser for only $15 and decided to place my laundry detergent in there. This is convenient for kids and adults to use. The 3 glass containers were around $6 each. I purchased the tall one to fill with my pods and the other two for my dryer sheets, and Gain laundry beads. I kept the scooper from the lid of the container to scoop out the beads.
The spray bottles are from Dollar Tree and I plan to add my stain removers and wrinkle release sprays in there ( I was out at the moment).
Check out this video below to see exactly how I organized my laundry room.
I hope this was super helpful for you and gave you some inspo on this lovely Thursday!
