Can I get some Color?
This is a question that I get from a lot of clients, quite often. My answer is always the same, “Yes, if you’re an ideal candidate.” LOL. I’m sure you are wondering, what exactly does that mean. Applying color to your hair is much more than just changing the hair color. It’s placing a chemical on your hair with the potential to cause damage (no chemical is fool proof). There are ways to prevent the damaging effects of harsh chemicals, but again, this is part of being an ideal candidate. Before requesting color here are some things to consider:
Am I consistent with my hair regimen?
Having a healthy hair care regimen is just as important as your skin care regimen. Your hair is going to do exactly what you tell it to do. Scheduling regular appointments with your stylist (bi-weekly appointments), maintaining your treatments, and having a night care routine are vital to the health of your hair.
Do I pay attention to my hair?
Being attentive to your hair is a requirement. You are the first respondent if your hair needs attention. If your hair becomes dry, or brittle, or limp, these are all signs that you can report to your stylist so that she is provide the necessary treatments for your hair.
Am I willing to invest?
Hair color is a commitment. It will require occasional touch ups to maintain your new color. As your hair grows, your color will also grow out. These touch ups will color the new growth of hair to match the previously colored hair. This will provide a more cohesive appearance.
