Tea Tree oil is our weapon of choice for today’s topic!! Alright ladies it is time to put on our combat boots, fatigue pants and gear up to COMBAT DRY, ITCHY SCALP! We are fully into the cooler months which means dryness is upon us. You may notice your skin is getting dry, and more itchy. If you have eczema, you may notice more flare ups around this time of year. If you don’t know, your skin is the LARGEST ORGAN on your body, so it is VITAL that we take care of it. Utilizing oils and other emollients (products that soften and soothe the skin) will help to combat these horrible effects of dryness.

Tea tree oil is known for its antiseptic like properties. It is very effective is helping to treat bacterial and fungal infections, which makes it a perfect option for dandruff and dry scalp. The most common from of dry scalp is dandruff. Dandruff is skin condition effecting the scalp that can lead to itching and flakiness. A more severe form of dandruff is known as seborrheic dermatitis. This form of dandruff has fungal properties, which makes tea tree an EXCELLENT option to combat this condition.
Bi weekly visits to your stylist are beneficial in treating these conditions of the scalp and skin.
